What does FREEDOM means?

What does FREEDOM means?

What does FREEDOM means?

Independence

“True freedom and independence can only exist in doing whats right.” – Brigham Young. Independence is not a just a celebration of what we achieved decades back but also a constant throwback and analysis of where we stand and what lies ahead. Independence is again not just about the battles won on the ground, but its also about the constant dilemma we face with our own self.

“The people who say that they have not time to attend to politics are simply saying that they are unfit to live in a free community.”Theodore Roosevelt

Bought up in a education system which restricts one To Think; Working in a hierarchy based system which doesn\’t lets one To Act; Bounded by the chains of values and beliefs which doesn\’t allows To Set Free. How do we evolve ?

To Think

“The only limits that exists are the ones in your mind.” Construct your mind to be free. Do not suppress any idea or thought because of the real life limitations you foresee. Let your idea take wings and fly within the mind. Your heart know not the limits and more often than not it falls in love with a person you never thought of. Your mind knows the limits and stops going a step further for an idea just evolved. Let their be sync. Undoubtedly, you shall face situation where implementing it would sound insanity. Nonetheless, do not let the idea get surpassed. Keep nurturing it and wait for the opportunity in life. It shall come. Even if it doesnt, you have lived a positive life.

“I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able to defend our Island home, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone.”Winston Churchill

To Act

“Act as if you do makes a difference. It does.” – William James. Some people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly. While some find a way around the law. Choose your stance carefully. It does matter. No matter how minute task you have been allotted, no matter whats your designation, no matter what ranking you hold, you are to act responsibly.

Also, its often cited regarding inability to act freely under positioned orders. In such circumstances, wait for the right task to do as its not always courageous but can also end up irresponsible. Understand that even the birds are not always free. They too are chained with Sky. On the other hand, when you act, be confident about it and make sure its more of a action than a reaction. In the words of Kim John, “Independence isn’t doing your own thing. Its doing the right thing, on your own.”

“We rejoice in that freedom, even though clouds surround us, and many of our people are sorrow-stricken and difficult problems encompass us. But freedom brings responsibilities and burdens and we have to face them in the spirit of a free and disciplined people.”Jawaharlal Nehru

To Set Free

“I want to set free, because i once broke free the same prison”. You too shall rise (or you are already there). When you do, when you are, do not bound people or thoughts with the power you have gained. Instead, let them be free. Let the thoughts take their own shape. Be a guide, be a light, be a mentor, be a well wisher. Do not to be a conventional leader. Let your team and your children commit their own mistakes. Set them free. Let them grow. Let the cycle complete.

Happy Independence Day.

“I believe that in the history of the world, there has not been a more genuinely democratic struggle for freedom than ours. I read Carlyle’s French Resolution while I was in prison, and Pandit Jawaharlal has told me something about the Russian revolution. But it is my conviction that inasmuch as these struggles were fought with the weapon of violence they failed to realize the democratic ideal. In the democracy which I have envisaged, a democracy established by non-violence, there will be equal freedom for all. Everybody will be his own master.Mahatma Gandhi
