The Human Layer · Edition 02
Hello, wonderful people.
Welcome to the second edition of The Human Layer. Received this as a forwarded newsletter? You can join the THL community here.
OpenAI Image 1.0 provided us with one of the early tools for image generation back in March 2025. But certain issues with image generation remained such as text, logo hallucination, change of elements randomly, random words, etc.
OpenAI launched Images 2.0 on April 21, 2026, reducing these issues to great extent. The tool now has text rendering, logos and brand accuracy, can handle good amount of texts without much hallucination, multilingual support, etc.
For founders running ad creatives, building marketing assets, or prototyping visual products, this changes the speed of going from idea to action. Currently this is available to both free (limited attempts) and pro plan users.
We were working on the THL newsletter covers last day, and these are the 4 output options it gave us within 5–10 mins while maintaining branding, texts, instructions across.
Anthropic has been moving fast this year. Claude CoWork, the agentic assistant arrived in January, Claude Code landed to handle implementation.
This week, they went further. Claude Design was launched on April 17th as an experimental product that lets users create prototypes, slides, one-pagers, and visuals using plain language — powered by the launch of Claude Opus 4.7. Figma’s stock dropped 7% the day this launched.
Claude Design is aimed specifically at founders and product managers who don’t have a design background. It is still in the early stages right now — currently in a research preview, early access only.
Manus.im is an AI agent that goes beyond chat. It can research, write, and execute multi-step tasks like building websites, creating desktop apps, or organizing workflows.
This is helpful for founders, creators, and marketers who want to turn ideas into execution faster. Especially useful for people building production-ready websites or apps.
We recently used it to build the entire structure of BuildBttr and for doing research on AI tools.
In simple terms, Lovable is an AI app builder that turns plain-language ideas into fully functional, production-ready web apps without you writing a single line of code.
You describe what you want to build, and Lovable handles the design, structure, logic, database, and deployment. From a single prompt, it generates the frontend, backend, databases, and deployment pipeline. Work management, all in one place.
We recently used it to build a Readers Club app — an idea that had been sitting untouched for over two years. Within one session, it had already evolved into a full project management tool for the organisation. The UI was clean, the process was intuitive, and the speed from idea to working prototype was unlike most tools we have tried.
For founders, creators, and marketers who have been holding an idea in their head without a clear path to execution, Lovable is a fast, low-friction way to finally see it on a screen.
Imagine how this would be — an orchestra with the most talented musicians in the world, sitting together, instruments in hand, ready to play. And no orchestrator in sight.
Each one does what they are trained to do. Individually, flawless. Together? It becomes noise. Because nobody knew what piece they were playing anymore.
Very soon, we will have the same situation with AI tools. The best of everything, right there in your hands. Tools that can build, write, design, execute, faster, sharper, skilled than ever before. All of it available. All of it ready.
But without knowing where to put what, what to prioritise, and where any of it is going, none of it will matter. Right now, the most important thing any one of us can work on is:
Clarity.
Clarity about what you are building. Clarity about why. Clarity about which direction you actually chose versus which direction just has the most momentum right now.
Your ability to think — not just for speed but for velocity. To be the human in the room who knows what piece is being played.
The tools are lining up. The orchestra is ready. Make sure you know what you want them to play.
That is all we had to share for this edition.
If you enjoyed reading it, share it with someone here who would get value out of this. Your support means a lot to us.
Build systems that remember. Use tools that move. Keep a voice that still feels alive.
We will be back soon with simple signals & thoughts to build The Human Layer.
