What Did Open AI & Gemini Just Launch?

May 2026 · The Human Layer

Hello, wonderful people.

Two signals this week

1) OpenAI launches longer context window

Alongside this, OpenAI launched Workplace Agents for ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, Edu, and Teachers plans, not available on personal plans. These are inbuilt coded agents for the various tasks of your business such as finance, design, market research, etc.

2) Gemini gets smarter with Workspace

Gemini can use context from your Workspace data in real time, so users do not have to manually feed the same background every time. In the same wave, Google also rolled out a reworked Gemini experience in Google Docs, new Gemini-led spreadsheet creation and editing in Sheets, and file generation inside the Gemini app itself.

Two tools this week

1) Freepik

This is especially helpful for founders, creators, and marketers who are constantly building campaigns, content, ad creatives, or visual concepts and want a smoother creative workflow.

Features we’ve been loving:

2) Supabase

We have been using Supabase to get internal systems more team-driven. It is essentially the backend layer that makes a shared system work instead of just a static interface.

This is especially helpful for teams managing multiple people, projects, proposals, tasks, and internal workflows in one place.

What we’ve been using it for:

One human touch

Before the age of 10, most of us have already built the first version of the world inside us.

In small moments.
At the dining table.
In the way money was spoken about.
In who got praised and who got silenced.
In what was called practical, what was called risky, what was called shameful, what was called success.

So much of what we call our nature is often just old programming. Old fears. Old sentences spoken around us before we were old enough to question them. And that becomes the script.

Before we learned how to think, we learned what to believe.

But the world keeps changing. Time changes. The tools, the pace, the possibilities, all of it keeps moving. When the system inside is already full, can we really adapt? This is where this word comes into play —

Unlearning.

Making space. Revisiting the foundations. Looking at something you have believed for years and asking: Is this actually true, or is this just familiar?

Because sometimes growth does not come from adding something new. It comes from having the courage to let go.

“The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.” — Alvin Toffler

That is all we had to share for this edition.
Build systems that remember. Use tools that move. Keep a voice that still feels alive.
We will be back soon with simple signals & thoughts to build The Human Layer.
